Fabric Care is in the business of cleaning and
maintaining investments in fine carpets, oriental rugs and upholstery
in the home or office of discerning owners. We clean natural (cotton,
silk, wool) and synthetic (nylon, olefin, polyester, rayon) fibers.
Our services extend to wall hangings, antiques (quilts and furniture),
stuffed toys and many other decorator items too numerous to mention.
With both portable and in plant equipment, for dry, wet, shampoo and
rug washing, we are capable of handling the most delicate of fabrics.
We have been recommended by interior designers nationwide and are
on several nationwide referral networks. |
Clifford Tubbs, President,
is a Cornell University graduate with a BS in Business Management. Having
successfully managed both sales and service businesses for national and
Fortune 500 companies, he decided it was time to leave the corporate life,
and strike out on his own. Owning your own business is very demanding,
but also is very rewarding, especially with the many friends one makes
along the way.
Martha P. Tubbs, CEO,
is a Syracuse University graduate with degrees in Fashion Design (BS)
and Art Education (BFA). She has worked in retail, taught junior high
school art and high school mechanical drawing before spending time as
a household engineer while raising our two sons. Since October 1991, she
has been scheduling, confirming, working with and following up on Cliff
and the rest of the crew. She also writes and edits our newsletters.
We moved to Fresno
in 1985 from Wilkes Barre, PA for a position with a local company that
fell through after we arrived. Soon, thereafter, we purchased a janitorial
business which eventually lead us to a local mentor who pointed us in
the direction of carpet and upholstery cleaning. We are an IICRC (Institute
of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification) certified firm
with only IICRC certified cleaning technicians. Cliff Tubbs is an IICRC
certified Master Cleaner/Restorer and Martha Tubbs has taken several of
the IICRC classes (so she knows if Cliff and the others are doing it right!).
Cliff Tubbs was elected
to the board of directors of the Carpet and FabriCare Institute in 1992
and Secretary/Treasure for 1993-94. CFI is a professional association
for cleaners in California, Arizona and Nevada.
Our original business
plan called for Marty and Cliff to do it all. We soon discovered this
was a very tall order, especially as we continued to grow, thanks to the
many “Cheerleaders” who told their friends and neighbors about
us. A noted industry consultant was retained in1998 to assist us in organizing
our growth plans and setting new business goals. 2004 marks our 15th year
in business. In 1999 we moved our business into a 2000 square foot location,
and in the spring of 2000 we added an additional 2000 sqft for an in plant
rug washing operation to better serve our continuing growth.

We love offering
FREE REFILLS on Spot Out, but, we don’t receive many empty
bottles back to recycle and refill.
Yes, the bottles
costs us more than the contents. We leave a bottle of Spot Out on
our first service to your home or office. On subsequent visits we
may not ask and rely on you to leave your bottle out so we can leave
a full one.
Usually Marty
will ask when you schedule an appointment if you need a refill.
You can always
stop by the office (8am-4pm M-F) and exchange a bottle. We will
even leave one outside for later pickup at your request!
